Today you are SIX MONTHS ….and five days old. You’re the cutest, sweetest baby. Seriously. I mean, look:
Ah, my sweet six-month old girl. I’m so happy to have you here with us. I had a good ten days off from work around Christmas and in that time, you changed so much. I can’t really describe it, but it seemed like you really blossomed, for lack of a better word. The newborn phase is truly gone and you’re a straight-up baby these days. I love, love, love it.
You roll from back to tummy, tummy to back, over and over. You are starting to army crawl. You giggle and squeal and shriek like a banshee. You have TWO teeth! We discovered your first one when the family was over on Christmas Day and the second tooth came in a week later.
You know who we all are and you are starting to seem a little skeeved out by strangers. I don’t mind though. You’re so cuddly and I’ll gladly carry you around until you won’t let me any longer.
The worst part about this month has been sleep. At first we thought it was because of those two lower teeth that came in, but um….nope. You have reached the stage of babyhood where you know you can cry to try and get your way. And if you had your way, you would always be held to sleep. All night. No crib. No nothing. “Hold me!” you’d yell if you could. Sometimes you try. So while this month has been full of hap, hap, happy times, it has also been full of frustration and sleepless nights. But you’ll come around and get the hang of it. And you’re worth it.
So happy half birthday sweet Char Char. Thank you for letting me be your mommy.
We love you!
